Just as the infinity of space, the blue depths of lakes, seas and oceans harbor an incredible number of secrets and mysteries. Unraveling these mysteries is the main objective of the Underwater Research Center of Russian Geographical society (URC RGS).
The Research center’s main line of work is locating, researching and surveying underwater objects, of both, natural and artificial origin. The Center received wide recognition in August 2015 when its’ specialists conducted a submersible dive with Vladimir Putin, the President of the Russian Federation, in the depths of the Black Sea to the wreck of an ancient ship.
URC RGS performs highly complex deep-sea works and participates in various international research programs. The achievements of the Center in the field of underwater research and exploration of artefacts, hidden beneath the ocean, allow us to steadily move towards the implementation of the most ambitious plans, such as, the creation of Russian deep-water manned submersible and the foundation of a museum of underwater archaeology, based at the Peter’s Dock (Kronstadt, Russia).
